Hangzhou Aotuo Mechanical and Electrical Co., Ltd. (AOTUO) manufactures the ATXL-C vehicle mounted screw ship unloader for 800–5000 DWT vessels at 150–500 t/h. The unit is road-mobile, self-contained and designed for cement, clinker, grain and similar free-flowing dry bulk materials where fixed berth infrastructure is unavailable or not justified.
The ATXL-C is a complete unloading plant on a heavy truck chassis. The articulated screw conveyor arm reaches into the hold, lifts material vertically and transfers it through an enclosed path to the shore receiving point. Because the machine travels on public roads and sets up at the berth in under 30 minutes, it serves small ports, river terminals, temporary construction quays and emergency discharge operations without rail tracks, foundations or permanent shore cranes.
Our design combines a standard 8x4 or 10x4 truck chassis with four-point hydraulic outriggers, a slewing horizontal boom and a vertical screw arm. The result is a mobile unloading asset that can be repositioned between berths, ports or project sites as cargo flows change.
AOTUO supplies a family of screw ship unloaders and auxiliary equipment. The vehicle mounted unit is the most mobile configuration in the range, intended for smaller vessels and locations without fixed handling infrastructure.
| Product type | Typical vessel range | Capacity | Best-fit application |
|---|---|---|---|
| 800-5000 DWT 150-500t/h Vehicle Mounted Screw Ship Unloader | 800–5000 DWT | 150–500 t/h | Small ports, barges, temporary quays, emergency response |
| 1000-70000 DWT 200-1500t/h Rail mobile Screw Ship Unloader | 1000–70000 DWT | 200–1500 t/h | Fixed berths with rail infrastructure and higher throughput |
| 1000-70000 DWT 200-1500t/h Tire Mobile Screw Ship Unloader | 1000–70000 DWT | 200–1500 t/h | Yard mobility without rails, medium to large vessels |
| 600-15000 DWT 100-500t/h Fixed Screw Ship Unloader | 600–15000 DWT | 100–500 t/h | Dedicated berth with fixed foundation and continuous duty |
The ATXL-C handles free-flowing dry bulk materials with a bulk density of 0.8–1.6 t/m³, maximum lump size 50 mm, moisture up to 10% for cement and material temperature up to 80 °C. Capacity ratings are based on cement at 1.2 t/m³; actual throughput depends on angle of repose, moisture and particle size distribution.
The unloading arm combines a horizontal boom with ±135° slewing and 30° upward / 30° downward elevation, plus a vertical screw arm with 30° inward and 40° outward swing. This geometry covers a wide hatch area and allows the screw to follow the material surface as the hold empties.
| Parameter | Specification |

| Applicable ship type | 800–5000 DWT coasters, barges, small bulk carriers |
| Horizontal arm return angle | ±135° |
| Horizontal arm elevation | 30° up / 30° down |
| Vertical arm swing | 30° inward / 40° outward |

| Noise level | ≤80 dB at operator position |
| Dust emission | ≤10 mg/m³ with integrated dust collector |
| Chassis configuration | 8x4 or 10x4 heavy truck, three axle, Euro VI diesel engine |
| Transport dimensions | 12.5 m L × 2.55 m W × 4.0 m H |
| Operating weight | 32–38 t depending on configuration |
The unloader is operated from a climate-controlled cabin or by remote control pendant. Automatic slew and elevation limit protection prevents over-travel, and the screw conveyor speed is regulated by variable frequency drive from 30 to 100 RPM. Power can be taken from the truck engine power take-off (up to 250 kW) or from an external shore supply of 400 V / 50 Hz three-phase with an 80 m cable. A standby diesel generator is available as an option.
For ports moving toward centralized control, we can integrate the unloader with the terminal’s material transfer system, including belt conveyors, air slides and dust collectors. The control system is configured around the required line interface, whether that is a simple local panel or a higher-level monitoring link.
No foundation or rail construction is required. The unit is positioned at the berth, four hydraulic outriggers are deployed, the boom assembly is unfolded and the dust collection system is connected. Setup takes 20–30 minutes with a two-person crew and no crane assistance.
AOTUO is the responsible drafting unit for the industry standard JC/T 2575 “Bulk Cement Spiral Unloader” and holds more than 100 valid patents and software copyrights. Production takes place in a 14,000 m² A-level workshop with testing equipment, under quality, environmental and occupational health and safety management systems. Each vehicle mounted unloader is inspected for screw conveyor alignment, hydraulic function, outrigger operation, dust collection performance and control response before dispatch.
Documentation supplied with the equipment covers operation and maintenance manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics, commissioning records and a recommended spare parts list. Operator training is available for vehicle maneuvering, outrigger deployment, boom control, emergency procedures and dust system operation.
The screw conveyor is designed for abrasive materials with hardfaced flighting. Standard screw diameter is 350–500 mm depending on capacity, with a pitch-to-diameter ratio of 0.7. Maintenance intervals are straightforward: truck engine and chassis follow the manufacturer schedule at 5,000 km; screw conveyor inspection every 300 operating hours; dust filter bag cleaning weekly; hydraulic oil change every 2,000 hours; annual inspection of outrigger cylinders and slew bearing.
Key components are accessible from the deck and the enclosed conveyor path minimizes spillage. AOTUO supports the fleet with spare parts supply and technical guidance through its service network.
To prepare a suitable proposal for a vehicle mounted screw ship unloader, we need the following project inputs. These determine capacity, arm geometry, power option and discharge interface.
The unloader is fully integrated on a standard heavy truck chassis and drives on public roads. Width is 2.55 m and height is 4.0 m in transport position. Road transport permits are required for height. Maximum travel distance between ports is 800 km without special logistics. No disassembly or crane assistance is needed for relocation.
Positioning the truck, deploying four hydraulic outriggers, unfolding the boom assembly and connecting the dust collection system takes 20 to 30 minutes with a two-person crew. Power is supplied by the truck engine power take-off or external shore connection. No tools or additional equipment are required.
Outrigger pads distribute weight to approximately 8–10 t/m². For unpaved surfaces, steel outrigger mats are included as standard equipment. Avoid operation on soft clay, sand dunes or saturated ground without proper ground reinforcement or additional matting layers.
Truck engine and chassis maintenance follows the manufacturer schedule at 5,000 km intervals. Screw conveyor inspection every 300 operating hours. Dust filter bag cleaning weekly. Hydraulic oil change every 2,000 hours. Annual inspection of outrigger cylinders and slew bearing.
Maximum lump size 50 mm. Material moisture content up to 10% for cement. Bulk density range 0.8–1.6 t/m³. Material temperature up to 80 °C. Capacity ratings are based on cement at 1.2 t/m³ and free-flowing condition; actual throughput varies with material characteristics.
Yes. A 16-hour training program covers vehicle maneuvering, outrigger deployment, boom control, emergency procedures and dust system operation. Annual refresher training is recommended. AOTUO supports the equipment with spare parts supply and technical service through its global service network.
